Prince Louis has made himself a royal fan favourite in recent years through his cheeky public antics. The youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales turns eight on Thursday (April 23) and will no doubt be spending the day with his loving family.
His uncle, Prince Harry, reportedly splashed out an eye-watering £8,000 for his christening at the Royal Chapel in St James’s Palace, in London, on July 9, 2018. It had an emotive link to Princess Diana who had a passion for the first editions of classic books.
As previously reported, Harry bought his nephew a first-edition copy of A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh. Dating back to 1926, the book reportedly set the Duke of Sussex back around £8,000.
It is believed Harry purchased one of the original 30,000 copies of the book that were made. He hoped it would start a collection of rare books for his nephews and niece.
A close friend revealed: “One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother. She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte and George to enjoy as they get older.”
Louis was christened in a service conducted by the Justin Welby, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, when he was 11 weeks old. The ceremony was only attended by close family, including the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and the Middleton family.
