Royal commentator Angela Levin has sparked fresh debate after criticizing Meghan Markle's decision to exclude her mother, Doria Ragland, from a collection of anniversary photographs shared with the public.

The controversy erupted after Meghan and Prince Harry released a series of personal images celebrating a milestone in their relationship. While the photographs highlighted key moments from the couple's journey together, some royal watchers were quick to notice that Doria Ragland—who has long been viewed as one of Meghan's closest supporters—was nowhere to be seen.

Speaking about the photos, Levin suggested that the omission was surprising given Doria's previously prominent role in Meghan's life. During Meghan and Harry's 2018 wedding, Doria was widely praised for her dignified presence and was one of the few family members from Meghan's side to attend the historic event. Since then, she has frequently been portrayed as a trusted figure within the Sussex family's inner circle.

Levin argued that the absence of Doria from the anniversary tribute raises questions about changing family dynamics. While she stopped short of making definitive claims, the royal author noted that public figures often choose anniversary content carefully, making every inclusion—or exclusion—subject to scrutiny.

Supporters of Meghan, however, have pushed back against the criticism. Many pointed out that the anniversary photos were intended to focus on the couple's relationship rather than extended family members. Others argued that drawing conclusions from a limited selection of images is unfair and ignores the private nature of family relationships.
