The letter did not announce an investigation into Archie or Lilibet’s births.
However, the children’s birth certificates have previously attracted considerable attention.
Archie’s 2019 birth certificate confirmed that he was born at Portland Hospital in London on May 6, 2019. The document also contained unusual wording for Harry and Meghan, which prompted years of discussion among royal watchers.
Lilibet’s birth certificate, meanwhile, confirmed that she was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California on June 4, 2021. The document listed Harry and Meghan differently from Archie’s certificate, including Meghan’s legal name and Harry’s royal styling.
