Prince Harry has announced a split from Meghan Markle following a supposed “stunning discovery.” The story has quickly fueled speculation online, with some social-media posts suggesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing their biggest relationship crisis yet.
In fact, the latest documented developments point to the couple continuing to manage their family life together. Harry and Meghan relocated to the United Kingdom with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in August 2026. Harry has since described his family as happy and settling into their new life.
There have nevertheless been circumstances that could easily generate speculation. Meghan has recently been absent from several of Harry’s public appearances, including his September engagements in London, while focusing on helping the children adjust to their new surroundings and schooling.
Harry has also traveled separately from his family. On September 23, he returned to the United States for an appearance at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, just weeks after moving to Britain with Meghan and their children. During the event, he spoke about protecting children from the potential harms of technology and social media.
Those separate appearances, however, do not establish that a marriage breakdown has occurred.
Another major development has involved the couple’s relationship with the monarchy. King Charles recently reaffirmed that Harry and Meghan remain non-working members of the Royal Family and that their HRH styles remain in abeyance. The clarification followed their return to Britain but did not announce any change in their marriage.
