The dramatic allegation has quickly fueled speculation about tensions inside the Royal Family.
Tom Parker Bowles, Camilla’s son from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, is not a working royal. Nevertheless, he has appeared alongside senior members of the family at major occasions. In June 2026, Tom and his sister Laura Lopes were photographed with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Royal Ascot, demonstrating that Camilla’s children can attend major royal gatherings without holding official royal roles.
There is also a significant historical example that contradicts the idea of an automatic divide between William and Camilla’s family.
In 2006, William and Harry attended the wedding of Camilla’s daughter, Laura Parker Bowles, to Harry Lopes. Catherine, then Kate Middleton, also attended the wedding, an appearance that has since been described as one of her early public occasions alongside William.
That history makes the latest viral claim particularly striking—but it does not establish that William and Catherine would refuse to attend another family wedding involving Camilla’s children.
Camilla’s family has continued to have a presence at significant royal occasions. Tom and Laura were among the relatives attending Charles and Camilla’s 2023 coronation, while neither holds the status of a working royal.
